Each design is conceived and designed in France, inspired by an heritage archives up for half a century.

With surprising moiré effects, fresh shaded tones, authentic patterns collected from ancient documents or archives from the other side of the world, the collection “Inspiration” most definitely blurs the lines to come up with an exclusive product, combining prestige and emotion.
The spirit of the enlightment inspires this collection that illustrates the free interpretation of the 18th century French rugs. Revisited in colors, the rugs retain a classic writing mingled with a timeless vitality.
Patrimoine collection, pays tribute to the rich legacy left by the Savonnerie and Aubusson French Royal Manufactories. By the best practices, it revives most of the layouts designed by Charles Le Brun and Louis Le Vau to cover the floors of the Galerie du Louvre under the reign of Louis XIV, but also pieces that, up until the beginning of the 19th century, had been part of the grand standing and influence of French design.

Since each Edition Bougainville® rug is a true work of art, it seemed only natural that its design studio would work together with renowned artists from all around the world, to order layouts for unique rugs, each being produced to only eight copies, numbered and signed.
